Access control & attendance
in Dubai & the UAE.

Manage workplace entry and attendance with a system matched to your doors, users and reporting needs. Define access rules and data handling before selecting or configuring equipment.

WHAT THIS SERVICE IS

A plain explanation of the work.

Access control and attendance is the system that decides who may open a door, when, and what record is kept of that event. In many UAE offices it is a Hikvision or similar door station, a reader, a lock, and software that can export hours for payroll. The work starts with doors, user groups and the working week, not with a catalogue of sleek readers.

Attendance data is personal data. Who can download it, how long it is kept, and whether it leaves the country if a cloud product is used are decisions for your business, recorded in the proposal. We configure the system you chose; we do not write your HR policy.

Locks fail safe or fail secure in different ways during a power cut. Fire and life-safety rules for the building override convenience. If a door must always open on fire alarm, that instruction comes from your facilities and the applicable building rules, not from a software default.

A CLEAR PICTURE

A labelled diagram, not a decoration.

From a door list to everyday enrolment
  1. Survey doors and power

Lock type, glass, break-glass units, and where the controller can live.

  2. Build groups and schedules

On paper with HR or operations, then in the software.

  3. Install and enrol a pilot group

Prove one door and a handful of users before the whole roster.

  4. Train the administrator

The person who will enrol tomorrow’s joiner must do it once while we watch.

WHO IT IS FOR

The situations this page is written for.

Offices that have outgrown a mechanical key box, warehouses that need timed gates, and teams that want a single enrolment process for cards or PINs plus an attendance export their accountant can use.

  • Suites with a reception door, a server room, and a store that should not share one key.
  • Companies that currently collect attendance on paper or a shared spreadsheet.
  • Fit-outs that need reader positions coordinated with glass doors.
  • Managers who must disable access the same day someone leaves.

TYPICAL SCOPE

What a proposal usually names.

01

Door and user planning

List doors, locks, opening hours, and groups (staff, cleaners, directors). Server rooms and pharmacies often need a tighter group than the main entrance. A door schedule that fights the fire strategy is rejected.

02

Device configuration

Readers, controllers and the authentication methods you approved — card, PIN, or another supported method. Biometric options are only used when you ask and when the device and your policy allow. We do not enrol faces “because the camera can”.

03

Attendance requirements

Agree the fields you need to export, the clock-in rules, and who may edit punches. Integrating a specific payroll product is included only when named, with that vendor’s interface documented.

04

Administration handover

Show enrolment, door schedules, and how to disable a person. You receive controller locations, a door list, and account credentials in your name. A weekly export habit is yours unless an AMC includes it.

INCLUDED AND QUOTED SEPARATELY

Labour versus things that sit on their own line.

Included in a typical proposal

  • Planning of the named doors and groups.
  • Installation labour for the devices in the proposal.
  • Configuration of schedules and a sample enrolment.
  • Administrator walkthrough.

Quoted separately

  • Locks, readers, controllers, credentials and software licences.
  • Fire-alarm interfaces and certified life-safety work.
  • Payroll software licences and custom API work beyond a documented export.
  • Doors not on the list, including car-park barriers unless named.

AFTER HANDOVER

What you should hold when the work is done.

Mechanical keys still matter for a failed lock. You should know who holds the override. Cloud accounts, if any, are in your organisation’s name. Enrolment photos and fingerprints, where used, stay in the system you own.

When someone leaves, disabling the credential is an operations habit. We can include that reminder in an AMC. The installation project cannot stand in the office every afternoon to watch the HR inbox.

PRACTICAL NOTES

Details that usually affect the proposal.

Enrolment quality decides whether people hate the door. Dirty cards, shared PINs and a reader in the sun all create queues at 8:30. We will place readers where they can be used, and we will say when the glass or the sun makes a pretty location a bad one. Interior designers and locksmiths have to be in the same conversation as the software.

Attendance exports that HR will not open are wasted. Agree the file shape with the person who runs payroll before we configure reports. A custom payroll API is extra. A CSV they already know how to import is often enough for the first year.

PLANNING THE WORK

Questions worth asking.

Can this replace punching in on WhatsApp?

It can provide a door event or a dedicated attendance punch, depending on devices. Staff still need a rule they will follow. The reader does not create discipline on its own.

What happens in a power cut?

Locks behave as designed — some open, some stay locked. We will state the behaviour for each door. A UPS for controllers is extra hardware if you want one.

Do you take a commission on Hikvision hardware?

Equipment is quoted as equipment. You may supply supported devices you already own if they fit the design. We will not pretend a mismatch works.
