THE SERVICE, EXPLAINED

An IP telephony project connects your business call-handling requirements with a suitable PBX, supported phones, network and licensed voice-provider service. ITZ scopes the implementation around users, simultaneous calls, reception workflows and existing equipment. Platform features, handset compatibility, subscriptions and provider approval are checked before committing to a design.

PLATFORMS & ENDPOINTS

Business communications brands, explained.

Understand the role of each manufacturer before choosing a phone system. We assess the platform, endpoints, licensing, lifecycle and provider connection against your requirements.

Calling & collaboration

Cisco

Cisco develops networking and collaboration technology, including Webex Calling for business telephony. For a proposed deployment, review user roles, network readiness, licensing and the available UAE provider arrangements.

Business communications

Avaya

Avaya provides business communications platforms, including IP Office for small and midsize organisations. Existing-system reviews cover the installed release, compatible endpoints, licences and the practical scope for configuration, expansion or migration.

Legacy PBX systems

Panasonic

Panasonic is an electronics manufacturer with an established PBX and office communications range. Its global business communications catalogue states that production is discontinued. Review the installed model, support options and replacement path before planning changes.

IP endpoints & collaboration

Yealink

Yealink develops IP phones and collaboration devices for business users. Endpoint selection should match the chosen calling platform, supported firmware and each role, from reception to everyday desk-based calling.

More PBX options: Yeastar and Grandstream

Yeastar P-Series offers a business phone-system platform across different deployment options. Grandstream UCM6300 is a PBX platform within Grandstream’s communications ecosystem. Compare the required call flows, compatible endpoints, administration and ongoing support before selecting a system.

External calling starts with the provider.

UAE external calling and hosted options require the appropriate licensed-provider or approved-service arrangements. We review the proposed connection with your provider; activation, number services, call charges and any required approvals remain separate dependencies. See du Business SIP Trunk and TDRA’s VoIP guidance.

Logos and product names identify their respective manufacturers. They remain the property of their owners and do not imply an ITZ partnership, certification or vendor endorsement. Product suitability and availability are confirmed for each project.

WHAT WE DO

A defined scope for your business.

A receptionist, a sales team and an internal office user need different call experiences. Start with how incoming calls should be answered, transferred and handled when people are unavailable. A technically connected phone is only one part of a usable system.

We plan new implementations and assess existing systems for approved configuration changes, troubleshooting or staged replacement. The service covers the customer phone-system environment; it does not make ITZ a licensed telecom operator or imply an authorised vendor partnership. External numbers, calling services and provider activation remain separately confirmed.

01

PBX planning and implementation

Compare an appropriate on-premises or approved hosted approach against user counts, provider compatibility and operating responsibilities.

02

Handsets and extensions

Plan numbering, supported desk phones, reception devices and authorised softphone requirements. Provision only confirmed compatible endpoints.

03

IVR and reception call flows

Configure agreed greeting menus, business hours, ring groups, transfers, voicemail and fallback destinations. Prompt recording or production is separately scoped.

04

Queues and team call handling

Define how calls reach departments, what happens when agents are busy and how unanswered calls are handled. Features depend on platform and licences.

05

SIP-trunk and provider coordination

Review the licensed provider handoff, number requirements and PBX connection details. Provider ordering, activation, portability and charges are not assumed to be included.

06

Voice network and quality checks

Assess relevant wired connectivity, PoE capacity, voice segmentation, firewall behaviour and reported quality symptoms rather than assuming bandwidth alone is the cause.

07

Upgrades, moves and integrations

Scope extension changes, system upgrades, office moves and supported CRM or application integration as defined tasks with compatibility and change windows confirmed.

08

Maintenance and handover

Record configurations, administration ownership and agreed call tests. Ongoing maintenance hours, remote access and escalation routes require a defined support arrangement.

MAKE AN INFORMED CHOICE

The right approach depends on the problem.

Choose the right starting point
Your situation A suitable approach What we confirm first
You need phones for a new office Plan the complete PBX, endpoint and provider scope Users, simultaneous calls, numbers, network and reception workflow
An existing system mostly works Assess retained equipment and focused changes first Platform release, support lifecycle, licences and current configuration
Calls are missed or sound unreliable Investigate the call journey and network evidence Affected destinations, timestamps, provider behaviour and device symptoms

DETAILS THAT MATTER

Write the call journey before choosing the phone model.

For example, an incoming call might reach reception during office hours, then a sales ring group if reception is busy, followed by an approved voicemail or alternate destination. Agree who owns each step and test the unanswered-call case as well as the successful call. A queue or greeting alone cannot guarantee that a customer reaches an available employee.

Simultaneous external calls, internal extensions and telephone numbers are different sizing requirements. Confirm them separately with the platform and voice provider. Retaining an existing handset depends on its exact model, firmware, provisioning and supported PBX configuration; a SIP label does not guarantee every feature works across every vendor.

Security and continuity also need operating owners. Review administrative access, outbound dial permissions, approved remote connectivity, configuration backup and update responsibility. Discuss power and internet failure behaviour with the provider and business owner. Recording, retention, monitoring and customer notifications require an explicitly approved scope and the appropriate business/legal decisions before activation.

Call handling

Reception, queues, hours and unanswered-call behaviour are agreed.

Compatibility

PBX, firmware, licences, phones and provider handoff are checked together.

Ownership

Provider contracts, administration, recording decisions and maintenance have named owners.

  • Recording/retention projects and ongoing or out-of-hours support unless agreed

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Answers before you commit.

Which brands can we discuss?

We can assess requirements involving Cisco, Avaya, Yeastar, Grandstream and Yealink equipment or platforms, plus existing Panasonic PBX systems, with other systems reviewed case by case. They serve different roles: a handset brand is not necessarily the PBX platform. Feasibility, access, support lifecycle and licensing are confirmed before a proposal. Brand references do not imply an authorised partnership.

Can you connect any cloud phone system in the UAE?

No. External calling and hosted deployment must be assessed against the applicable UAE provider and regulatory requirements. A product being available internationally does not establish that its calling service is suitable for your UAE business.

Can we keep our existing telephone numbers and handsets?

That depends on provider eligibility and the specific equipment. Number changes or portability are confirmed by the provider; phones require model, firmware and platform compatibility checks.

Is call recording included automatically?

No. Recording features, storage, retention, access and any required notices or approvals need a separately agreed scope. We do not enable recording by default or provide a legal approval for its use.

Does the quote include telephone bills and maintenance?

Provider contracts, call charges, equipment, licences and ITZ implementation/support are identified separately. Maintenance and any out-of-hours attendance are included only if explicitly agreed.
