Wi-Fi 6
EAP673
- AX5400 ceiling model
- 2.5 GbE; 802.3at PoE
Consider for: Busy office areas with suitable multi-gigabit access switching.
Check before choosing: Confirm controller support and power at the planned location.
Manufacturer detailsTP-Link Omada · DUBAI & UAE
A business network that can grow from one site to several.
Omada is worth considering when you want coordinated EAP wireless, compatible switching and gateways with a choice of local or cloud management. ITZ helps you choose the controller approach first, then the APs and wired infrastructure that support it. That avoids buying an attractive EAP model that does not fit your intended cloud tier or hardware revision.
MODELS & PRACTICAL DIFFERENCES
Examples for a scoped comparison, subject to UAE model and hardware-version availability.
Wi-Fi 6
Consider for: Busy office areas with suitable multi-gigabit access switching.
Check before choosing: Confirm controller support and power at the planned location.
Manufacturer detailsWi-Fi 7
Consider for: Newer wireless clients where a higher-capacity wired path is part of the project.
Check before choosing: Budget for the uplink and power design, not only the AP.
Manufacturer detailsWi-Fi 6
Consider for: Guest rooms or offices where local wired outlets are useful.
Check before choosing: PoE pass-through needs the specified PoE+ input and available power budget.
Manufacturer detailsWi-Fi 6
Consider for: Suitable café terraces, yards and external property areas.
Check before choosing: Regional pages show enclosure differences between versions; confirm the exact revision and mounting environment.
Manufacturer detailsModel examples are not a stock list. Final selection depends on UAE availability, support lifecycle, regional radio rules, software compatibility and the site assessment. Aggregate radio rates are not single-client or internet throughput guarantees.
MANAGEMENT & DESIGN DECISIONS
Cloud access to a local controller and a cloud-hosted controller are different arrangements.
| Option | Why consider it | What must be confirmed |
|---|---|---|
| Software controller | Use a suitable existing host for central management. | Host availability, updates, backup and supported EAP versions. |
| OC200 / compatible hardware controller | Keep an identifiable controller appliance at the site. | Current capacity limits and exact device compatibility. |
| Omada Central Essentials / Standard | Manage eligible devices through the selected cloud tier. | Essentials feature limits versus Standard subscription costs and the current compatibility lists. |
PLATFORM STRENGTHS
A supported controller can group compatible equipment and site configurations. ITZ defines branch ownership and administrator permissions so future changes do not depend on sharing one personal login.
Local software, a compatible hardware controller and eligible cloud services suit different operating models. The least expensive hardware list is not always the lowest total operating cost.
Wall-plate and outdoor models can solve different installation constraints from a ceiling AP. Wired outlets, mount positions and equipment revisions belong in the survey brief.
LOCAL PROJECT BRIEFS
Create a repeatable equipment schedule and branch naming scheme. Define who can modify guest access locally and what remains centrally managed.
Compare room-level wall plates with corridor-mounted APs. Check in-room Ethernet needs, PoE pass-through and coverage inside occupied rooms before repeating a floor design.
Illustrative project briefs, not customer case studies. Dubai, Abu Dhabi and other UAE visits are scoped around location, access and the agreed work.
WHAT ITZ CAN SCOPE
Position ceiling, wall-plate and outdoor APs according to the building and client demand. Agree which devices need wired backhaul.
Check hardware revisions, adopt compatible APs, apply the chosen site settings and document the owner account.
Scope VLAN mapping, firewall isolation, portal requirements and branch administrators. Validate the guest experience on actual client devices.
Check controller and firmware dependencies before adding new EAPs; retain configuration backups and schedule changes through an agreed AMC scope.
DEFINE THE RIGHT NEXT STEP
EAP models and hardware versions, controller type, branch count, guest access and room requirements. ITZ will review the requirements and confirm the assessment or quotation scope.
BRAND-SPECIFIC ANSWERS
No single licensing statement covers every Omada option. Local controllers and cloud services have different requirements. Omada Central Essentials and Standard differ in compatibility and features, with Standard using subscription licensing. ITZ identifies the chosen option in the proposal.
The referenced EAP655-Wall has three gigabit downlink ports. One supports PoE pass-through with the required PoE+ input. The exact hardware revision and available power must be checked for the connected device.
No. Its 10G port does not upgrade the switches, cabling or internet circuit. ITZ checks the entire uplink path and client demand before recommending a multi-gigabit upgrade.
Often, compatible models can share a supported controller, but controller release, EAP firmware, hardware revision and feature requirements must be checked. A shared brand name alone is not sufficient.
ITZ scopes Omada troubleshooting and upgrades in Abu Dhabi and other UAE locations. Share the site location, controller details and model inventory so support arrangements and travel can be confirmed.
